The aim of the present study was the comparison of response inhibition, cognitive self-consciousness and dissociative experiences in patients with OCD (checkers and washers sub-groups). The research method was causal-comparative. The sample consisted of 80 patients with OCD (checkers and washers sub-groups) who were selected as accessible. Entry criteria include those who are above 25 years old, who have passed secondary education and have no other physical or mental illnesses. To collect the data we used the obsessive- compulsive questionnaire, strop color-word test, meta-cognition inventory of meta cognition questionnaire and dissociative experience scale. Data were analyzed by MANOVA analysis statistical method. The results showed that response error, response time and dissociative experiences in patients with washers sub-group were significantly higher than checkers sub-group. The results also showed that there was not significant differences between patients with checkers and washers in cognitive self-consciousness (P<0.01). These findings suggest that response inhibition, and dissociative experiences can be used as important variables to understand the etiology, prevention and treatment of patients with OCD
